In the information age, information and communication technology is an important contributor to growth in every sector of an economy. In its quest to unlock the potentials of the digital economy of Rivers State, the state government launched an innovation center called Tech Creek, equipped with the right facilities and programmes, to arm young residents with the required skills to become active contributors to the state economy.
One of the programmes that holds at Tech Creek is the Codegaminators, a 12-week programme for young adults with interests in animation, coding, networks and hardware, database administration, photography, and game development. Codegaminators is currently calling for applications into its fourth edition of training. You can apply here.
To prepare kids for the future, many countries are adopting new ICT curriculum for their schools. Nigerian kids cannot be left behind as this could be costly for her future economy. Another program organized by Tech Creek called DigiStyle for Kids engages children and teenagers between 9-16 years during the holiday period with intelligent games, and by teaching them soft skills, computing, and crafts. Registration for the 2019 session is currently ongoing and will end on April 5th, 2019. You can apply for your kids by visiting Tech Creek.
