Ken Saro Wiwa Innovation hub is a center for innovation and creativity with a pre-incubation concept for startup enthusiasts and tech entrepreneurs. The idea was borne from the desire to build a space for like minds to see young people leverage on tech in building capacity, leadership and impacting their society, through organizing seminars,trainings and meetup events; for tech startups from the incubation to acceleration stage and creating the enabling environment by providing power, internet and conducive co-working spaces.
Ken Saro Wiwa Innovation Hub has a strong support base for community developer and non-developer groups, such as Google and Android developers groups, Women tech makers. This, it does by collaborating with them for trainings and meetups and contributing to the success of the events hosted by these developers communities.
KSWI hub is a stakeholder with immense contributions in the ecosystem as programmers, coders, developers with tech solution successes in agriculture, education, power, transportation etc and participants in tech events such as the 24-hour hackathon session during the 2017 edition of Startup Port Harcourt Week to proffer solutions towards the ease of doing business in Nigeria.
It’s a resource centre for startups in raising awareness about tech development with cutting edge trainings and global partnerships with Network for Hubs in Africa (AfriLab), Network of Incubators in Nigeria (NIN) which are network of hubs in Africa and Nigeria respectively.
KSWI is in a tech innovation project with Stakeholders Democracy Network and the recent organizers of the Hack Agriculture Hackathon competition for tech solutions in the agric sector.
