Nigeria’s internet company closes on seed funding of $2.1 million to extend services across Lagos and the South-South region

Nigeria’s Y Combinator-backed startup, which offers unlimited, uncapped internet service across Lagos at a N9,500 monthly subscription cost has just secured a seed funding of $2.1 million from international investors including Western Technology Investment, Social Capital, Vy Capital, Picus Capital, Ace and Company, Lynett Capital Partners, Zeno Ventures  and a number of angel investors.

According to information made available to techativeng,

The seed fund will enable the company to extend its services across Lagos and the South-South region of Nigeria, by launching an Xfinity Wifi-like hotspot service, as well as scaling up mobility with the inclusion of 3,000 new public hotspots across Lagos.

Its founder and CEO, Kendall Ananyi, was recently in Port Harcourt to conduct a market survey where he gave a lecture at the monthly Startup Sunday meetup and also made a guest appearance on the SMEs & Startups Show with Adora Okoli of Nigeria Info 92.3fm to discuss his startup and the services that they offer. The callers on the show expressed excitement about the startup and welcomed their services to the city. This development will be good news to the ears of Port Harcourt city residents and business owners.
